Individual Note:   LATE MRS ORMROD

Amid manifestations of deep sympathy and regret the funeral of the late Mrs Ormrod, wife of Mr Richard Ormrod of Stamford St, Millbrook, who died following injuries received in a bus smash at Ashton on Mersey (the inquest proceedings in connection with which are reported elsewhere in this issue), took place at St James's Church, Millbrook, on Tuesday. The Rev. R. Wainwright, M.A., Vicar of Millbrook, conducted service at the House and Church, and performed the last rites at the graveside. There were many floral tributes, and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Shaw Bros., of Acres Lane. The mourners were Mr. Ormrod, Master Ernest Ormrod, Miss Ormrod, Miss Edith Ormrod, Miss Molly Ormrod, Miss Ethel Ormrod, Mrs Booth, Mrs Lambert, Mr and Mrs William Ormrod, Miss Booth, Miss Eccleston, Miss Withers, Mrs Butler, Mrs Green, Mrs Sidebottom, Mrs Brookes, and Miss Johnson.

KILLED IN ACTION

Mrs. E.A. Ormrod, of 4,Cresent Road, Dukinfiled has received official news that her husband, Pte. Ernest ormrod, was killed in action on November 21st, while serving in the Central Mediterranean theatre of war. Pte. Ormrod was 35 years of age and had been abroad three years and three months of his 3 1/2 years service. A former pupil of St. James's School Millbrook, he was employed by Wellerman's, builders and contractors, of Hyde. He leaves a widow and ten-years'-old daughter.
